More exciting Dollywood news for Dolly Parton fans everywhere!

If you love beautiful scenery and flowers, then you’re not going to want to miss this! Dollywood’s Flower and Food Festival presented by Covenant Health kicked off on June 15. Dollywood’s Flower and Food Festival brings Dolly Parton’s dream to reality with displays blooming in a beautiful display of colors everywhere you look. Visitors can enjoy a kaleidoscope of over half a million flowers throughout the festival. Guests will also find themselves under a beautiful umbrella sky as soon as they enter the park, walking underneath over 600 umbrellas.

Dollywood is also pairing up with the internationally known Mosaicultures sculpting team to bring flowers to life as animals, including black bears, turtles, and raccoons. Parton’s musical influence comes to life through special tributes of  “I Will Always Love You” with a floral heart umbrella and “Coat of Many Colors” with a stunning sculpture of Parton’s mother Avie Lee sewing the garment.

Guests will also have opportunities to take gorgeous photos at special photo locations so families can capture memories to last long after the festival. Visitors can explore amazing sculptures covered in half-a-million colorful flowers. Some of these statues reach 14 feet high and show off the breathtaking view of the Smoky Mountains. During the festival, the park will stay open until 9:30 p.m., with every night ending in an incredible display of fireworks. Founder Dolly Parton says:

“I know everyone is tired after being cooped up inside for the last few months, but I think all of us probably appreciate our family and friends even more right now. I’m glad we’re able to start welcoming folks back to Dollywood with a brand new festival to help them make fresh memories together. Things may look a little different, but when they see all those beautiful flowers in bloom, I think it will help them take a bit of a break from everything that’s been going on.”

Not only will guests get to experience the incredible display of flowers, there will also be plenty of delicious food to enjoy! Dollywood shares the traditions of Smoky Mountain and Southern cuisine with menu items such as lobster rolls, gyros, chicken stir fry, zucchini rolls, and so much more! Dollywood will also have delicious desserts that include blueberry tarts, chocolate-dipped macaroons, toasted coconut cupcakes, and chocolate ganache brownies. Cool off with one of the many refreshing drinks that include blueberry lavender lemonade, strawberry guava, watermelon lime fresca, and blood orange lemonade.

Dollywood Theme Park and Dollywood’s Splash Country Water Park reopened June 15 and 16 for season pass guests only. Both parks open to the general public on June 17. Season passholders are asked to reserve the date and time of their visit. General admission visitors will be asked to purchase a date based ticket to ensure a fun and safe experience for everyone while practicing social distancing. Reservations can be made at Dollywood’s website. Dollywood’s Flower and Food festival promises to be an amazing experience for the whole family!
