FOX Renews Both ‘9-1-1’ and ‘9-1-1: Lone Star’ for New Seasons
On April 13, FOX confirmed on social media that the first responder series and its spin-off will be coming back for more action! FOX’s hit series, 9-1-1, is currently in the midst of airing season 3, with about five episodes to go. And luckily, production finished before the COVID-19 pandemic took over. Its spin-off, 9-1-1: Lone Star, starring Rob Lowe, aired during its hiatus for a 10-episode first season and showed a commercial that seemingly confirmed the Austin-based series would be returning for another season after the finale. FOX hadn’t officially confirmed the news, and there was nothing about its predecessor … until now.

Coincidentally, the news came out as 9-1-1 series star, Oliver Stark, was doing an Instagram Live on FOX’s page as part of the network’s #AtHomeWith, watching the pilot episode and season 3’s third episode with fans.
9-1-1: Lone Star became FOX’s #1 new drama, while 9-1-1 has steadily remained as one of the network’s biggest shows. The original will return for season 4, while Lone Star will return for season 2. As for a crossover, fans now have more hope that the 118 and 126 will team up in some way.
9-1-1 season 3 airs every Monday at 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT on FOX, streaming the next day on Hulu and the FOXNOW app. Catch up on season 3 with our recaps here.
