PHOTOS: ‘The Wayward Podcast’ Brings Fans Together for Live Show

The Wayward Podcast, hosted by Supernatural‘s Kim Rhodes and Briana Buckmaster, takes us all on a weekly journey through many subjects: Responsibility, Loneliness, Luck, Voices, Aging, Egos, Dreams, Pets, etc. The podcast was born from the Wayward Daughters movement, which transferred to the Wayward Sisters, and finally, The Wayward Podcast.

The duo hosted their first live podcast this past week in Los Angeles, where our photographer, Liz Larson, attended.

One of our friends, Tasha, also summed up the live show perfectly:

On Friday, Kim Rhodes said “it’s okay, we’ve got you. We got you.” And it’s so remarkably true how much both she and Bri have us. We are so lucky [to] have people who love us and encourage us to love ourselves and who work so hard to create a beautiful loving community. It just felt so nice to be in that kind of space in fandom. One that felt safe and warm and welcoming and inviting and kind. A lot of times recently it’s felt like fan spaces have been covered in whispers. There’s drama being passed around or you can’t really tell who is your friend or who is just trying to find an invitation to a “tea party” that was never going to happen anyways. Secrets and interactions get shared like social currency and it’s just so exhausting. But walking into that wild ass bar and being hugged by old friends, new friends making introductions, and people doing wild chants and other people handing out stickers.

It just felt warm. And cozy. And that had absolutely nothing to do with the fireplace that was in the first room. It was a community of human beings who come together to love and support and lift up each other. It’s a community of people who are constantly learning. It’s a community of people who strive to be better every day. It’s people who want to unlearn the bad things they’ve been taught throughout their lives and who want to learn how to be the best and most open and accepting humans they can be.

It’s wayward as fuck. And it’s home.
