This past Friday, the Upper East Side Barnes & Noble theater in New York City was overflowing with fans excited for performances and CD signing of the stars of the new Broadway musical, Jagged Little Pill. The cast sang selections of the album with introductions by Jagged Little Pill music supervisor, orchestrator and arranger, Tom Kitt.

Elizabeth Stanley started off the performances with a new Alanis Morissette song, “Smiling.” Kitt explained that he was in California when Morissette first played it as a piano track and was able to take the song into his own direction that would best serve the musical. Next up Lauren Patten and Celia Rose Gooding performed “Hand in My Pocket,” Sean Allan Krill sang “Mary Jane,” and then Kathryn Gallagher and Derek Klena joined the others to perform the musical’s finale song, “You Learn.” After the performances, Kitt and Antonio Cipriano, who has been on vocal rest, also joined the others for the CD signing.

Jagged Little Pill is currently playing at the Broadhurst Theatre in NYC and is a must-see! Check out the trailer for the show below:
