Broadway’s Lauren Patten, Celia Rose Gooding, and cast members of Jagged Little Pill performed “Hand in My Pocket” on Late Night with Seth Meyers.
This new Broadway musical features music from Alanis Morissette’s 1995 album of the same name and “tells the original story of a suburban family struggling to maintain the illusion of perfection while confronting some of today’s most universal issues.” It follows Mary Jane Healy who “is a high-achieving homemaker who will do anything for her family, including their adopted African-American daughter Frankie, who is struggling to find her place in their lily-white community. But when the Healy’s lives begin to unravel, Mary Jane’s drive to keep her family together threatens to break them apart.”
This moving story was created by Academy Award winner Diablo Cody (Juno, Tully) and directed by Tony Award winner Diane Paulus (Waitress, Pippin) with movement direction & choreography by Olivier Award winner Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui and music supervision, orchestrations, and arrangements by Pulitzer Prize winner Tom Kitt.
