A new decade, a new film interpretation of Batman from DC Comics and Warner Brothers.

Matt Reeves’ take on the caped crusader is officially in production, as confirmed by a tweet on the director’s account. The Batman stars Robert Pattinson as Bruce Wayne/Batman, but few details about the plot of the film have been released. This version of the Batman story has been in development for years with several different stars and directors attached. Pattinson joins a group of iconic actors who have taken on the role in the past, including Michael Keaton, George Clooney, Christian Bale, and most recently Ben Affleck (who was originally slated to star in this film before extensive rewrites).

The Batman also stars Jeffrey Wright (Commissioner Gordon), Zoë Kravitz (Selina Kyle/Catwoman), Paul Dano (Edward Naston/Riddler), Andy Serkis (Alfred Pennyworth), Colin Farrell (Oz Cobblepot/Penguin), Jayme Lawson (Bella) and John Turturro (Carmine Falcone). Peter Sarsgaard also joined the cast in a secret role. The film is scheduled to be released on June 25, 2021 and is expected to kick off a new Batman trilogy (as originally reported by Variety).
