Every week, Michael Rosenbaum sits down opposite a guest and really delves into their lives as part of his podcast, Inside of You with Michael Rosenbaum. Rosenbaum is an actor, most known for his roles on Smallville and Impastor, with many other credits to his name.
Rosenbaum’s podcast has been known to really get inside of (pun intended) his guests and talk about things that most are either scared to talk about or avoid. Many of the guests are friends of Rosenbaum’s, or friends of friends, so it’s easy to hear how comfortable they are and how comfortable Rosenbaum makes them. One of the things Rosenbaum does beautifully is being able to share his story dealing with mental health, and it allows his guests to feel safe and open up about the same things. We’ve seen it episode after episode, and it’s so tastefully done without making the guest feel uncomfortable.
Today, a podcast was released with Arrow‘s Stephen Amell. In it, Amell discusses how hard it was to deal with the fact that Arrow ended, and he got really personal about dealing with the darkness of it, panic attacks, and how his wife was worried about him. It was an honest, raw, and moving conversation to listen to. Rosenbaum also shared his own stories and experiences with dealing with it, and as a listener, you really got to see how people that we look up to can deal with the same things that we are. It was an incredible thing to witness, and you could hear the emotion through the microphones. By sharing their stories, they let us know that going through these things are part of life and it’s okay; it’s okay to talk about them, it’s okay to put yourself first, it’s okay to self-love and take care of yourself and step back when you need to. Week after week we see more and more vulnerability with the guests; we see a side to people that we’ve never known, and it really opens up the stigma about mental health and the taboo of discussing it.
It’s not only Amell, though. Rosenbaum does this with all of his guests — Zachary Levi also gets very candid about discovering self-love, as well as the cast of Supernatural. If you have a chance, go back and listen to previous episodes of the show.
Rosenbaum’s podcast is one-of-a-kind. What you hear is what you get. He’s always honest, and always sharing his experiences and what he’s gone through in life. I couldn’t be more grateful that a podcast like Rosenbaum’s exists. He’s changing the conversation and helping out so many people.
