‘The Adventure Zone’ Animated Series in Development for NBC’s Peacock

Fans of the McElroy family, we have some incredibly exciting news. The Balance arc of The Adventure Zone podcast is currently in development to be turned into an animated series for NBC’s upcoming streaming service Peacock. Though the series has not officially been picked up yet, we’ve got all of our fingers (and toes) crossed!

Balance was the McElroy family’s first campaign for the podcast, played in a Dungeons & Dragons format, and it ran from 2014 through 2017 with 69 episodes of wild adventures, incredible storytelling, and endless laughter. Taako, Magnus, and Merle have thus far been immortalized in a printed format with The Adventure Zone‘s ongoing companion graphic novel series and the plentiful amounts of fan art that the podcast’s large and dedicated fandom has created over the years.

But now, these three unforgettable characters will potentially be getting the animated treatment!

In the meantime, catch up on The Adventure Zone‘s latest and current arc, Graduation. This campaign follows the adventures of three characters as they navigate their new lives at Hieronymous Wiggenstaff’s School for Heroism and Villainy and the adjacent Sidekick and Henchperson Annex.
