We are almost at the end of 2019 and have seen some great video game releases. There have been more involved with conventions, as well as mainstream media, and they only continue to grow. With the remaining sequels, reboots, and new series to be released, gaming is ending the year strong.

October is when the Enthusiast Gaming Live Expo (EGLX) is in Toronto, Ontario from October 18-20. It will be in the North Building of the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. You can purchase your tickets on their website.

Regardless of the platform you use — Play Station 4 (PS4), Xbox One (XBOX), Nintendo Switch (NS), Computer (PC), etc. — there is a game for you to enjoy. Check out this list of some of the anticipated video games to be released in October.

October 1

Destiny 2: Shadowkeep Expansion (PS4, XBOX, PC)

In this new chapter, something new is stirring on the Moon, a power that not even Eris Morn can control. This new power mimics enemies that the Guardians thought were conquered. Players go on new missions to fight against the fear.

October 2 

Warsaw (PC)

Players lead soldiers and civilians in a battle of survival against the Nazis.

October 3

Neo Cab (PC)

You can play as one of the last fully human taxi drivers in a world with AI automatons. Players interact with their passengers to keep their connection to humanity.

Paranoia: Happiness is Mandatory (PC)

In the role with a team called the Troubleshooter, players keep the peace in a dystopian society being controlled by the Friend Computer.

October 4

Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint (PC, XBOX, PS4)

Players become an elite special operations soldier hunted by The Wolves, former brother-in-arms. The rogue soldiers have taken over Aurora, a land of bio domes of snow to forests where drones get tested. Will you survive being hunted?

Ghostbusters: The Video Game Remastered (PC, PS4, XBOX, NS)

The game was initially released in 2009. Dust off the proton pack and find those ghosts. When it comes to saving New York, who you gonna call?

October 8

Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair (PC, PS4, XBOX, NS)

Players run, jump, roll, and solve their way through puzzles and levels while following the objectives and rescuing royal bees.

Trine 4: The Nightmare Prince (PC, PS4, XBOX, NS)

Players go through a magical fairyland landscape filled by nightmares.

Indivisible (PC, XBOX, PS4)

Indivisible follows the story of Ajna. Players go on a journey to find the truth behind the mysterious powers. Along the way, there are unique heroes with new abilities and enemies to fight.

John Wick Hex (PC)

Players maneuver their character through levels on a hex-based grid to beat enemies.

Concrete Genie (PS4)

This story is a heartwarming journey of a bullied teen named Ash. Ash escapes his issues by bringing his colorful imagination to life in a sketchbook. Players explore Denska and find a lighthouse with a living paintbrush that can create things to purify the polluted walls. Harness the power to eliminate the darkness while overcoming personal struggles.

BurgerTime Party! (NS)

The best grill in town is Peter Pepper’s burger. Ingredients that get thrown out can jump back out for revenge in a battle of man versus food. Players do what they can to serve food.

October 9

Dragon Star Varnir (PC)

A knight named Zephy is in an order that hunts down witches who give birth to dragons, in a world were bones of an ancient beast stronghold over the land. Two witches save Zephy from death by feeding him dragon blood. Can they keep everyone?

October 10

Mistover (PC)

Players go up against the undead and monsters while trying to survive. But be careful, the map has been known to turn to mist.

Deliver Us the Moon (PC)

With a drone by your side, players explore various lunar bases and the moon, while searching a way to save humanity from extinction.

October 11

Citadel: Forged with Fire (PS4, PC, XBOX)

Players become an apprentice of the magic arts, setting off to investigate the dangerous world of Ignus to create a name for yourself. Your choices determine the path of your journey, so choose wisely.

Immortal Realms: Vampire Wars (PC, PS4, XBOX, NS)

The ancient Dracul bloodline has ruled over Warmont for as long as can be remembered. In the realm of the Bloodthrone, vampire’s feast on their human subjects ordered by Vlad and Cecilia Dracul. In the east, the Nosfernus bloodline patiently waits for a chance to take over the land of the living. In the North, the clan of Morosia conduct dark rituals and bloody soirees. Players descend into the world of vampires and try to survive and win the battle.

Doraemon: Story of Seasons (NS, PC)

In Natura, Doraemon and friends help around town creating bonds with the characters. In Story of Seasons players farm, explore, go on adventures, and more.

Killer Queen Black (NS, PC)

Ride on a snail, hoard berries, and kill the enemies’ queen to win. Seems simple right? Well, the queen also has workers sworn to protect her.

AeternoBlade 2 (PS4, XBOX, NS)

Freyja has been living peacefully after the events of AfternoBlade, but reality’s existence begins to disappear. The journey begins again.

Frostpunk: Console Edition (PS4, XBOX)

In a frozen world in the 19th century, people use steam-powered technology to stay ahead of the cold. Players lead a small group as they try to prepare for a deep freeze.

October 15

Children of Morta (PS4, XBOX, NS, PC)

Players are not a single character, but a whole family of heroes. Fight through enemies and lead the family to victory.

Overwatch Legendary Edition (NS)

Join the fight for the future! Players pick a hero from soldiers, scientist, adventurers, and oddities to defeat the enemies in locations around the globe.

DayZ (PS4, XBOX)

Players are in a post-soviet Republic of Chernarus where a plague has infected most of the world. Players must look for food, water, and weapons to try to survive the outbreak. Will you survive the zombie outbreak?

Disco Elysium (PC)

Players become a detective; what kind of detective is up to you. Players have freedom of choice. They can solve crimes or commit them.

October 17

The Fisherman: Fishing Planet (PC, PS4, XBOX)

Players test their skills to see if they can land a trophy-sized fish.

Kine (PC, PS4, XBOX, NS)

Three machines aspire to be musicians, so they go across the city to form a band and get their big break.

Monkey King: Hero is Back (PC, PS4)

Based on the 2015 animated film, this is a never-before-seen chapter in the legend. Players can explore up to 10 levels, take control of the Monkey King, unlock skills, and more.

October 18

Apex Legends Bloodhound Edition (PC, PS4, XBOX) and Apex Legends Lifeline Edition (PC, PS4, XBOX)

In a battle royale shooter game, players can choose legendary characters with powerful abilities. Welcome to the next evolution of battle royale. This edition includes skins, banners, badge, and 1,000 Apex Coins.

Ice Age: Scrat’s Nutty Adventure (PC, PS4, XBOX, NS)

Scrat’s acorn is inside an ancient Scratazon Temple. Players help Scrat fight against prehistoric creatures and explore while trying to find the Crystal Nuts to get his acorn back.

Pig Eat Ball (PS4, XBOX, NS)

King Cake has decided it is time for his daughter to get married, but she does not agree. As a disguised Princess Bow, players try to win the contest to marry the princess.

October 22

WWE 2K20 (PC, PS4, XBOX)

“Whatchu gonna do when The Man and DA BIG DAWG come for you, brother?” Players will be able to choose from many WWE wrestlers, but for the first time, players can also be a playable female character in career mode!

The Legend of Heroes: Trials of Cold Steel III (PS4)

A year and a half has passed since the civil war. In these uncertain times, a secret society called Ouroboros put their plans into motions, and they involve Jaeger and Calvard.

October 25

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (PS4, XBOX, PC)

Players take on the role of a Tier One Operator as they fight for global balance and power.

October 29

Afterparty (PS4, PC)

After a night out partying, two friends wake up and find themselves in Hell. Players must piece together the events while out drinking Satan.

Harvest Moon: Mad Dash (PS4, NS)

In this fast-paced farming game, players harvest milk, fish, and more to fill orders in each level.

Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz HD (PS4, XBOX, NS, PC)

Players must take back their bananas from space alien pirate king named Captain Crabuchin.

Close to the Sun (PS4, XBOX, NS)

The story begins on a boat, but players spend most of the time aboard a large passenger ship called The Helios. It is the world’s largest ship with railways, gardens, a hospital, and more. Will you solve the mystery of Helios?

Dusk Diver (PS4, NS, PC)

Players will be in a world where there is a dimensional rift with supernatural entities coming through. As Yang Yumo, players protect the neighborhood with help from guardians.

Disney Classic Games: Aladdin and the Lion King (PC, PS4, XBOX, NS)

Players can choose several different versions of the games in this remastered version.

October 31

Luigi’s Mansion 3 (NS)

Luigi is on a dream vacation with Mario and his friends. Unfortunately, the vacation becomes a nightmare. It is up to Luigi to save his friends.

Moons of Madness (PS4, XBOX, PC)

Players become Shane Newhart, a technician stationed at the Invictus on Mars. Your job is to keep things running smoothly until a new team comes to take over. But when things start to fall apart, what is even real?
