Big news for musical lovers everywhere!
20th Century Fox and Amblin Entertainment have released the first sneak peek at Steven Spielberg’s rendition of the classic West Side Story.
This will be Spielberg’s first time directing a musical. He’ll be teamed up with Munich writer Tony Kushner and Tony award winning choreographer Justin Peck to bring this newest version to life this summer.
Ansel Elgort and Rachel Zegler will portray the modern day Tony and Maria, respectively. Ariana DeBose, Ana Isabelle, Corey Stoll, and the legendary Rita Moreno (in a new expanded role) will also be featured.
Filming begins this summer with a release date of December 18, 2020.
