Nerds and Beyond is at WonderCon 2019 in Anaheim, California and were a part of the roundtable interviews with Emma Lahana (Haven) who plays Detective Brigid O’Reilly on Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger. Detective O’Reilly transfers to the New Orleans Police from New York. During her work, she meets Tyrone, and she becomes a friend to the pair.

In the interview, she expresses she is looking forward to having fight scenes in season two along with more stunt work. They get to have some creative input as to what works with their characters; she was not able to talk about her favorite fight scene without revealing spoilers.

Talking about the difference with playing the two characters she describes it as, “There’s a Jekyll and Hyde thing going on.”

Lahana challenges the rage she uses to play Mayhem from, “I have things in my life that make me rage full…everything going on right now…. animal rights, and the environmental movement.”

Cloak & Dagger follows teenagers, Tyrone/Cloak (Aubrey Joseph) and Tandy/Dagger (Olivia Holt), both from different backgrounds living in New Orleans that have superpowers, which stemmed from separate tragedies that happened on the same night when they were young. While learning how their powers work and what to do with them, they also try to deal with their feelings for each other.

The two-hour premiere of the second season of Cloak & Dagger will air April 4 on Freeform.
