Netflix has confirmed the casting of three new cast members for season 2 of Heartstopper.

Thibault De Montalembert (Call My Agent!, Chocolat) is to play Stephane Nelson, Nick’s father. This is great news for comic fans who are hoping to see plenty of the Paris trip, a major arc in the books that is likely to be much of the focus for season 2. De Montalembert is a renowned French theatre, film, and television actor with a list of credits spanning several decades.

De Montalembert is joined in See-Saw Films’ highly anticipated season 2 by up-and-comer Bel Priestley, who is best known as an LGBTQIA short-form content creator on TikTok, where she has 1.2 million followers. She is set to play main character, Elle’s friend Naomi.

The third and final casting is that of Ash Self, a self-described “actor and baby comedian.” He will play another friend of Elle’s, Felix.

De Montalembert, Priestley, and Self join all of the confirmed returning cast, including Kit Connor (Nick Nelson), Joe Locke (Charlie Spring), William Gao (Tao Xu), Yasmin Finney (Elle Argent), Corinna Brown (Tara Jones), Kizzy Edgell (Darcy Ollson), Tobie Donovan (Isaac Henderson), and Sebastian Croft (Ben Hope).

Also confirmed in Netflix’s announcement are returning stars Chetna Pandya (Coach Singh), Fisayo Akinade (Mr. Ajayi), Alan Turkington (Mr. Lange), & Olivia Colman (Sarah Nelson).

While there’s no confirmed release or filming dates for season 2 yet, fans are eager for every scrap of news on Alice Oseman’s Heartstopper world.
