Season 2 of ‘A Discovery of Witches’ Now Streaming!

The long wait is finally over — the second season of A Discovery of Witches has officially arrived!

Based on the All Souls trilogy by author Deborah Harkness, A Discovery of Witches is a fantasy drama that follows the story of a reluctant witch named Diana Bishop (portrayed by Teresa Palmer). In the first season, the historian’s carefully organized life unraveled at an alarming rate when she accidentally came across a long-lost alchemical manuscript. Her affairs then became entangled with those of the mysterious vampire Matthew Clairmont (Matthew Goode) when the two struck up an allegiance that soon turned into a passionate romance. With the Congregation hot on their tails, Diana and Matthew made the decision at the end of season 1 to timewalk into the past in order to find her an appropriate teacher and search for Ashmole 782.

Season 2, which is based on the novel Shadow of Night, finds the pair in Elizabethan London in the year 1590. Watch the trailer below!

The airing schedule of A Discovery of Witches varies depending on what continent viewers are located on. For those in the UK and some parts of Europe, all 10 episodes of season 2 are currently streaming on Now TV and Sky TV.

Meanwhile, fans in North America can catch new episodes weekly on Saturdays (starting today) via Shudder, AMC+, or Sundance Now. As an added bonus, fans that are hoping to brush up on season 1 can binge all eight episodes for free right now on the three aforementioned streaming services.

For those interested in a virtual watch party, @sundance_now, @AMCPlus, and @Shudder will be hosting a #WitchesWatchParty for the first episode on Twitter tonight at 8 p.m. EST. Fans can also join author Deborah Harkness for her #witchalong on Twitter at 10 p.m. EST this evening!

Make sure to join us weekly for our recaps of each episode!

Aliyah O’Brien Cast in Season 6 of ‘DC’s Legends of Tomorrow’

0

Our favorite time-traveling group of superheroes is gaining another member … sort of. Aliyah O’Brien (Bates MotelTake Two) has joined the cast of the upcoming season of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, as reported by Deadline. O’Brien will play the recurring role of Kayla, “a fearsome warrior with a high body count and low patience for human incompetence.” She will work both with and against the Legends.

DC’s Legends of Tomorrow follows a ragtag group of superheroes (and former villains) who travel throughout time to fix anomalies and ensure the past, present, and future remain (mostly) intact. It stars Caity Lotz, Dominic Purcell, Amy Louise Pemberton, Tala Ashe, Maisie Richardson-Sellers (who will not return as a regular for season 6), Nick Zano, and Jes Macallan.

There’s currently no release date set for the season 6 premiere. It will air on The CW upon its return. Catch up on the show now on The CW App and Netflix.

There is a little under two weeks left until Walker‘s premiere!

A slew of new information has recently been released to gear fans up for the series’ beginning that is creeping ever nearer, including new casting reveals, trailers, and photos from the pilot. Most recently, the description for the second episode, “Back in the Saddle,” was released. You can see the synopsis below:

Jared Padalecki to Appear on ‘Live with Kelly and Ryan’ on January 21

Jared Padalecki is scheduled to appear on Live with Kelly and Ryan on Thursday, January 21 ahead of the premiere of his new show Walker, which premieres that night.

Padalecki is coming off of a 15-year run of the wildly popular show Supernatural, and will be back on The CW starting January 21, taking over Supernatural’s old time slot at 8pm EST/PST.

Below is the official synopsis for the show.

WALKER, a reimagining of the long-running series “Walker, Texas Ranger,” stars Jared Padalecki (“Supernatural”) as Cordell Walker, a widower and father of two with his own moral code, who returns home to Austin after being undercover for two years, only to discover there’s harder work to be done at home. He’ll attempt to reconnect with his creative and thoughtful son (Kale Culley, “Me, Myself and I”) and his headstrong, somewhat rebellious teenaged daughter (Violet Brinson, “Sharp Objects”) and navigate clashes with his family – an ADA brother (Keegan Allen, “Pretty Little Liars”) who stepped in during Walker’s absence, his perceptive mother (Molly Hagen, “Herman’s Head”) and his traditional rancher father (Mitch Pileggi, “The X-Files”). Walker’s former colleague is now his Ranger Captain, (Coby Bell, “The Game”). Walker finds unexpected common ground with his new partner (one of the first women in Texas Rangers’ history) played by Lindsey Morgan (“The 100”), while growing increasingly suspicious about the circumstances surrounding his wife’s death. The show also stars Jeff Pierre as Trey Barnett. WALKER is written and executive produced by Anna Fricke (“Being Human,” “Valor”), and executive produced by Dan Lin and Lindsay Liberatore and Jared Padalecki. WALKER is from CBS Television Studios in association with Rideback.

The Russo Brothers Share First Look at Upcoming Film ‘Cherry’ with Tom Holland

With weeks to go until the release of Cherry in theaters before eventually making its way to Apple TV+, the Russo Brothers have shared a first look clip at the film. Cherry is based on the best-selling novel of the same name by Nico Walker and follows Holland in the title role — a disenfranchised young man from Ohio who meets the love of his life Emily (Ciara Bravo) only to risk losing her through bad decisions and challenging circumstances. Cherry ends up serving in the Iraq war as an Army medic, but when he returns home, he has to battle his undiagnosed PTSD, causing him to spiral into drug addiction. After draining his finances, Cherry turns to bank robbing to fund his addiction, shattering his relationship with Emily along the way.

The clip released, which you can watch below, shows his enlistment in the military.

The film Cherry lands in theaters on February 26 and Apple TV+ March 12.

The CW’s ‘Arrow’ Spinoff ‘Green Arrow and the Canaries’ Is Officially Not Moving Forward

0

It’s a sad day for Arrow fans.

In Arrow‘s final season last January, the episode “Green Arrow and the Canaries” was set to serve as a backdoor pilot for the spinoff of the same name centered around Mia Queen’s life circa 2040 when Laurel Lance and Dinah Drake make a sudden reappearance in her life. Unfortunately, after a year of waiting, it was confirmed that The CW will not be moving forward with this project according to Deadline.

Though this spinoff may not be coming to fruition, Arrow‘s legacy still lives on in multiple other CWverse superhero shows including The FlashLegends of Tomorrow, and the newest CWverse venture Superman & Lois.
