Season 4 of FOX’s 9-1-1 has been off to a blazing start already and Jennifer Love Hewitt, who plays Maddie Kendall, will be appearing on The Drew Barrymore Show on Wednesday, February 17!
The third season of the first responder series ended with Maddie revealing that she’s pregnant. Pregnancy in quarantine during a global pandemic has not been easy, as shown at the beginning of season 4, as baby daddy Chimney (Kenneth Choi) was quarantining with Buck (Oliver Stark). But now that Chimney has moved back in with Maddie, the two can finally begin preparing for their little one’s arrival. However, a Buckley family secret involving Buck may disrupt that happiness.
Check your local listings to see when and where you can catch Hewitt on The Drew Barrymore Show and be sure to watch 9-1-1 every Monday at 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT on FOX, followed by 9-1-1: Lone Star!
Buckle up Walker fans, because a new promo for the upcoming episode fourth episode “Don’t Fence Me In” has been released! If you haven’t already, check it out below!
This promo seems to find Captain James pushing Micki into the spotlight as the force’s newest ranger. Ramirez is seen asking Walker to keep something off the books — a departure from the normally straight-laced behavior that she has exhibited so far. Cordell “off the books” Walker seems to be willing to help his partner out — though let’s be real, his eagerness probably stems from his tendency to do things the rowdy way as much as wanting to help Micki out and improve their partnership.
To get a better clue of just what will be going down on next week’s episode, make sure to check out the official synopsis of the episode along with photos, all of which can be found here. If you’re not caught up on what went down in episode 3, make sure to check out our recap as well, along with all of the Walker content your heart could desire.
Walker airs on Thursday nights at 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT on The CW.
In last week’s episode of A Discovery of Witches, we spent some time catching up with our present day characters. Marcus appeared to have secured an auction lot that contained the portraits that Diana and Matthew had commissioned for Jack back in 1590, but they were unfortunately stolen. Meanwhile, Domenico and Gerbert continued on their mission to take down the de Claremonts while investigating the bloodthirsty vampire on the loose in Oxford. Marcus then paid Ysabeau a visit and learned that the blood rage disease originates from her bloodline, and he’s a carrier of it. Keep reading to find out what happened in the fifth episode of season 2, in which we timewalk back to the year 1590.

The episode opens with Matthew and Diana arriving by ship on the shores of Mont Saint-Michel, France, following up on Philippe’s orders. Pierre has also joined them on their journey. They part ways with Gallowglass on the beach and greet the “escort” that Philippe has sent for them. Before they part ways, Gallowglass warns Diana not to lose Matthew or herself at Sept-Tours.
London
Kit runs into Matthew’s sister Louisa, who had initially come to town in search of her brother. When Kit informs her that he’s in France, she inquires why he’s not with him. “Aren’t you two joined at the hip?” He leads her away, as they have much to discuss in regards to Matthew.

Diana and Matthew have begun their journey to Sept-Tours on horseback. Matthew informs her that they will not be seeing Ysabeau on their trip, as he recalls that she spent most of that year at the witch trials.
London
Settled in at the tavern, Louisa is less than pleased to find out that her brother is fraternizing with a witch. She refuses to believe that it’s anything but the result of an enchantment. Kit solemnly tells her that he’s been enchanted by love, not sorcery. Without Matthew in town, Louisa clearly hopes to have some fun. She attempts to kiss Kit, which ends up awkward as he turns away, for this de Claremont sibling is not the one that is the object of his affections.
LOUISA: Broken. And yet it still beats for him.
France
Diana and Matthew have stopped traveling for the evening and set up camp with their escort. Matthew remarks that though the armed guards are there to ensure they arrive at Sept-Tours without delay, they are also there to serve as a reminder of the vampire’s dwindling freedom the closer he gets to his father.
London
Though Kit may not have been receptive to Louisa’s initial plans for fun, they’ve found something else to do in the meantime — shooting bottles. A man approaches to accost them for the noise they’re making, on top of the fact that they’re out past curfew. Louisa’s face quickly morphs from laughter to anger when the man calls her a whore, and she shoots him. She then asks Kit if she’s better company than her brother, to which he responds, “Infinitely.”

Matthew wakes up Diana and informs her that they need to get moving, because the weather has taken a turn for the worst. As they travel on, they come upon a settlement that has been attacked and left to burn. Though Diana wants to check for survivors, Matthew won’t let her, because the soldiers may still be nearby. Later, Diana falls off of her horse, overcome with exhaustion.
That evening, things begin to get heated between Matthew and Diana in their tent, and Diana implores Matthew to let her have him. He declines and tells her not there, not now, but they will in time. Diana turns away as he goes to kiss her, disappointed and offended. The next morning, she’s thrilled to find a pair of pants beside her when she wakes up, which will prove to be far more comfortable for riding. Matthew and Diana part ways with Pierre, sending him to reconvene with Gallowglass and find them lodgings in Bohemia for the next leg of their trip after their visit to see Philippe.
As they approach Sept-Tours, Matthew warns Diana not to bother trying to read Philippe. He spent centuries with his father and still could never tell what he was thinking. Diana seems unperturbed by the warning, as she did manage to win over Ysabeau, after all.
The mood is tense when Matthew and Diana approach Philippe inside the castle. His father calmly expresses his displeasure over the fact that he had to find out that Matthew was with a witch through his spies, rather than from his son himself. Diana interrupts, confidently informing Philippe that she is not just a witch but also a weaver. Philippe, however, has lived far too long to find this news impressive by any means. Much to Matthew’s dismay, Diana proceeds to make another comment alluding to the fact that she’s from the future. Philippe, who has already heard from Father Hubbard that Matthew is a “changed man,” then gathers that Diana is a timewalker.
Sky One
Diana admits to Philippe that she was spellbound and is still learning how to harness her powers, hence why they needed to find a teacher for her in the past. She confidently proclaims her and Matthew’s love for each other. Philippe scoffs at this, picking at an already raw wound as he states that if the relationship truly meant something to Matthew, he would have consummated it already. (“Did you really expect me not to know? You both have very distinct scents.” Jot that down as a very weird vampire skill.) Matthew cuts him off before he can say any more, and Diana stalks away in anger.
Once they’re alone, Diana accosts Matthew, furious that he lied to her. Matthew tells her that as far as he’s concerned, they are mated. The two continue to shout at one another, and when Diana asks him why he’s holding back if she’s all that he could ever want, Matthew snaps that it’s complicated. Diana tosses a sidelong remark that Philippe doesn’t seem to think so, to which Matthew snidely responds that she should bed him, then. Having crossed the line and then some, Diana slaps him and sends him flying out of the room, slamming the door behind him.
He angrily heads down the hallway to confront Philippe, knowing that the fight had been his father’s desired outcome. Matthew remains full of rage as Philippe evenly reminds him that though he has never lied to Diana, there is still the sin of omission. His father then inquires when the last time he fed was, and Matthew is bothered to see Philippe expressing concern for his well-being. Philippe is very quick to assess that there is likely a schism between the two of them in Matthew’s current time, not realizing the real truth: he’s dead.
The next morning, Matthew heads out alone on horseback. Diana finds Philippe and declines his invitation to take her to see Matthew — she’s not ready to talk to him yet. Due to the fact that Ysabeau is absent, Diana is currently the highest ranking in Sept-Tours, and for this reason Philippe attempts to give her keys to the house. Diana is initially offended by the gesture until Philippe explains that he’s doing it out of respect. He then takes her to the library upon her request.
Matthew rides alone through the woods on horseback, hunting. Meanwhile, a witch has arrived at Sept-Tours, stating that he needs to speak to Philippe about an urgent matter. Philippe is not pleased by the uninvited guest.
Philippe and the witch, Champier, enter the room that Diana is in. Champier has told Philippe that he was summoned by Diana … he sensed a great power. Diana makes note of the fact that Philippe immediately obliged the stranger’s request, to which he simply brushes off by saying it’s not for him to interfere in the business of witches. It appears that Philippe has spun an interesting tale about Diana, for Champier seems to believe that Matthew found her and she has no recollection of her past.
Champier approaches her, despite the fact that Diana says she doesn’t need help, and he tells her that there are ways to unlock painful memories. Philippe watches on stoically as Champier grabs Diana’s head and begins to sift through her mind. He asks who’s been feeding from her, calls her a traitor, and then goes on to express his interest in Diana’s potential. Diana struggles as Champier tells her he’ll remove all that haunts her by taking her memories. She screams out in pain and Matthew, who has returned to the castle, rushes inside. As soon as he enters the room, Diana reaches out and calls his dagger to her hands. She swiftly stabs Champier, tossing him to the ground and stands with tears falling down her cheeks as the other witch’s blood drips from the blade.

One of the main questions since WandaVision‘s announcement was just how do these era jumps through sitcoms tie into the story? With the arrival of Quicksilver in episode 5, there may be an answer.
So far, the jumps have provided a lot of entertainment value and even more mystery. Why are they hopping so fast? How are they doing it? What does it mean? Why does it matter? Then, the Fox X-Men version of Quicksilver played by Evan Peters shows up at the end of episode 5 and has everyone even more confused than they already were.
Lining up an Fox X-Men Pietro and an MCU Wanda is no easy task — they both have completely different stories that don’t involve the other. X-Men Quicksilver is a teenager in the 70s, in the MCU, Wanda wasn’t born until 1989. Along with the obvious MCU Pietro being dead, these two are from completely different stories and different origins. Wanda isn’t even a mutant in the MCU … yet.
In the films, X-Men: Apocalypse takes place in 1983 and Dark Phoenix in 1992, Peters’ last two appearances. Is it a coincidence that Quicksilver pops up in the 80s era of WandaVision right before we head into the 90s? Highly doubtful. If Marvel is planning on using the same actors and characters that Fox used in their films, which are all the main players that fans know and love, they need a way to get them here from the past. (And no, that random Deadpool cameo with everyone didn’t count.)
It would also be shocking if getting these new X-Men here didn’t involve the Multiverse, which we know Marvel is diving headfirst into here in Phase 4. Of course Pietro could be someone else or have been sent by someone, but this is a surefire way to explain how some other of our favorite mutants make it into the MCU without needing a massive explanation.
I’ve been extensively covering and theorizing the show, and from the beginning I haven’t bought that Wanda is the sole antagonist, something or someone else is pulling the strings and you can read about those at the link above. Wanda wouldn’t be able to pull a Pietro she doesn’t know out of nowhere, and the show acknowledges the recast. Someone else is at work here. And I think that someone else is playing with the Multiverse and time using Wanda’s magic and keeping her distracted with this perfect little sitcom life that she always wanted.
The first 5 episodes of WandaVision are currently streaming on Disney+.
Do you hear that, prospects? It’s the sound of the Mayans Motorcycle Club heading down the roads of Santo Padre heading to the season 3 premiere that is coming on March 16. Along with the premiere date announcement, a teaser trailer was released as well.
This season will see Elgin James as the showrunner. During an exclusive with Entertainment Weekly, he shares what fans can expect to see for the club and the Reyes and Galindo families. When the series returns, it will have been a few months after the death of Dita (Ada Maris), Adelita (Carla Baratta) and her newborn being taken away, and the massacre at the birthday party of a family member of the Vatos Malditos that also saw the death of a Sons of Anarchy member. Here is what James says we can expect to see:
“EZ, now fully patched, struggles to find his footing within the club’s hierarchy and, haunted by his murder of Dita, finds himself torn between darkness and the gravitational pull of his new love interest. Angel, gutted after having Adelita and his child ripped away from him, loses himself in sex, booze, and violence, until a shot at redemption lands on his doorstep. Coco (Richard Cabral) spirals on a journey into hell as his demons finally overwhelm him. Alvarez (Emilio Rivera) will be forced to decide once and for all where his loyalties truly lie, with the Mayans or with Galindo (Danny Pino). And ghosts of the past come calling for all of the M.C. both individually and as a club. From past loss and loves to a dead SOA member buried in the Mexican desert. This is a season about reckoning. This is the season we get to know these characters beyond the kutte. This is the season we tell their stories.”
The series stars JD Pardo, Clayton Cardenas, Edward James Olmos, Sarah Bolger, Michael Irby, Carla Baratta, Antonio Jaramillo, Raoul Max Trujillo, Richard Cabral, Danny Pino, Emilio Rivera, Frankie Loyal, Joseph Lucero, Vincent Rocco Vargas, Maurice Compte, Gino Vento, Tony Plana, Michael Ornstein, Ada Maris, and more.
Season 3 of Mayans M.C. will air on FX March 16 and the next day on Hulu.
Another week, another round of questions from episode 5 of WandaVision. This week I think it’s fair to say more mysteries were ignited rather than solved, but some running theories have maintained. Take a look back at my previous theories for the first 4 episodes here.
As always, major spoilers for ‘WandaVision’ episode 5 ahead.
The first thing I want to mention was one particular moment that stuck out in my mind from this entire episode (even that huge reveal at the end), and it came when Vision unearthed Norm’s suppressed (true) self from under the hold of the sitcom. Last week came the “big bombshell” that this is all Wanda, but I’ve never bought it. It was too early and too easy for Marvel to say this is just Wanda; unless you’re making Wanda the big bad, that doesn’t further the MCU that just closed up its first full chapter with Avengers: Endgame (which I suspect The Falcon and the Winter Soldier brings an even more solid end to with the potential death of elder Steve Rogers, which is why it was originally slotted to be first). So why was Norm’s moment significant? He never said a name.
Marvel/Disney+
From my previous mad theorizing I’ve landed on two suspicious entities in Westview — Agnes and Dottie. Agnes got even more weird in the episode which we’ll touch on shortly, and Dottie is still just a mystery. Neither of them were identified by the FBI as a missing person as the other less known to viewers residents of Westview have (although Agnes is on the wall, with no ID below her, while Dottie is just not even present despite her having a prominent role in episode 2). When Norm is snapped out of the Westview Anomaly by Vision he begs Vision to “stop her,” “make her stop.” So far, all three of our suspects are women — Wanda, Agnes, and Dottie — so while nothing gets cleared up, nothing is ruled out either.
Since the first few episodes, Agnes has been highly theorized as Agatha Harkness and Dottie potentially as Mephisto. Nothing new came out on the Dottie front as she wasn’t even featured in this episode (though we do know she makes a comeback at some point from trailer footage), but Agnes is extra suspicious now.
Marvel/Disney+
Throughout this entire episode, everything to do with Agnes was off — and Vision is on to it. From her comment about having “tricks up her sleeve,” to not batting an eye when Tommy and Billy grow five years before her eyes not once but twice and Wanda manifests a collar out of thin air, she’s completely unfazed. Vision himself is taken aback (finally) at Agnes uncanny ability to always have what they need when they need it, too. Whether it’s an entire five-course meal, some spare time to help with their babies, or even a dog kennel when the twins find a random dog in the yard, Agnes has got their backs. Then of course, was the odd “break” at the beginning of the episode.
This isn’t the first time we’ve seen that Agnes is in on the Westview Anomaly. We saw it in episode 3 when she shushed Herb as he was about to spill some beans to Vision about why outsiders had taken interest in Westview. That alone made Herb suspicious but his good name has been cleared as he’s been identified as a missing person. When she breaks the scene because Vision didn’t go along with what Wanda “wanted,” which was for Agnes to hold the babies, it proved that she certainly knows exactly who Wanda is and what she’s doing.
What was interesting about this however was Agnes asking about Wanda’s ability to raise the dead after Sparky had died. (MCU Wanda’s ability to do this is still unclear, comic Scarlet Witch indeed can.) If she was as in on it as we all believed, she would know Wanda had risen Vision from the dead. So either Vision wasn’t resurrected by Wanda after all, or Agnes isn’t as close to the situation as we believe. It will be interesting to see how this plays out. But I still suspect Agnes is Wanda’s mentor Agatha Harkness (it would explain why she’s always helping, and never suspicious, but also cautious) however, one could make a case for her being a villain of a more sinister and larger scale.
On the topic of Vision, his actual status is getting murky. In episode 4 we saw a very clear flash of dead Vision, but it was never expanded upon if that was a figment of Wanda’s grief or his actual status beneath the reality-bending spell Westview is under. It’s confirmed that Wanda stole Vision’s corpse nine days earlier than the present day from S.W.O.R.D. as well. However, it only gets more confusing as Vision can clearly still use his Mind Stone given powers when he snaps Norm back into his true self, and even all those times he took to the sky. Wanda also was unable to control him (even though she said she could), and Jimmy Woo brought up the question we ourselves are now asking — how can he do any of this without the Mind Stone? How is he here without the Mind Stone? I brought up the wild and out there theory that Wanda may have made a deal with Mephisto for Vision … it’s still plausible.
Tommy and Billy also got much stranger this episode. They’re impervious to Wanda’s abilities, even as newborns, and they can age themselves older as they please without any help from mom. Is it because they’re half Mephisto and Mephisto is behind this, leading to Wanda not being able to control them? (Same as Vision …)
Marvel/Disney+
Long before the series ever premiered, Wanda herself, Elizabeth Olsen, said that here in WandaVision we will see Wanda become the Scarlet Witch. They made a very obvious reference to Wanda still not having a superhero “alias” here in this episode, so that adds the fuel to the fire that after this series she’ll have her comic moniker. Another clue to that is Darcy and Monica now referring to Westview as “The Hex.” Having Wanda become the Scarlet Witch versus just Wanda would also weave her upcoming appearance (alliance?) with Doctor Strange in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness even tighter.
At this point it really seems like Marvel wants us to believe that Wanda is the only one pulling the strings (especially after that face off with S.W.O.R.D.), but they’re leaving clues that that may not be the case. Jimmy acknowledged that this is far beyond any power that Wanda has exhibited before. While Monica brings up her almost taking out Thanos singlehandedly as proof that’s a moot point, I’d have to agree with Jimmy. Of course, this is not out of reach for comic Wanda, but the two characters are so vastly different sometimes it’s hard to really compare the two. But, are we possibly trying to merge MCU Wanda with comic Scarlet Witch now? Yes.
Marvel/Disney+
The big reveal — Pietro, but not MCU Pietro. So how does this fit in? How does this work? Your guess is as good as mine, but my (farfetched) theory is something relating to introducing Magneto (the Fassbender version).
Obviously seeing the Evan Peters version of Pietro (or should we say Peter?) in the MCU was … unexpected. It raises so many bizarre questions — how does she know this is Pietro? Why this version? Is this an introduction to a Multiverse in some way?
The show itself acknowledges the “recast” of Pietro to Peters from Aaron Taylor-Johnson, so this is no weird casting swap because Johnson wasn’t available (and if so, this is a messy fix.) We know the X-Men are a new acquisition by Disney/Marvel and they’re certainly using this as an entry way into the Universe for those characters, so who else but Magneto would this be a perfect time to introduce?
In the comics, Wanda and Pietro are the children of Magneto and mutants from birth, unlike their MCU counterparts. Magneto plays a huge role in the comic series that WandaVision most closely resembles, House of M, where Wanda essentially loses her mind and creates an alternate reality, complete with Tommy and Billy and some assistance from Doctor Strange (I know you’re sick of me saying it but, he plays into this series somehow!)
Olsen has said there is a Luke Skywalker in The Mandalorian-like reveal in WandaVision, and I should hope that it’s someone bigger than Quicksilver (no offense to him, but he’s no Luke Skywalker.) Magneto, however, fits that bill. It would introduce the mutants into the MCU, and possibly give us a new twist on more of Wanda and Pietro’s backstory — like why were they the only two experiments to survive at the hands of HYDRA? Magneto still someone being involved in their lineage could explain that. And yes, if I had to guess, the Multiverse will be involved in how Peter/Pietro/Quicksilver looking like Evan Peters found his way there, and it has big implications. Who got him there, for one?
Another little ember for the Magneto being part of Wanda’s lineage is the constant mentioning of her past and parents. Episode 5 mentioned them in the briefing at the S.W.O.R.D. base and many have theorized that the two actors in the commercial breaks are meant to actually be the Maximoffs, who died when the twins were 10. While that seemed like a more minor detail before this episode, it may be much larger in the grand scheme now.
Of course, Peters’ Pietro could also be the villain in disguise to throw Wanda off even more, but I don’t see the purpose in making him a new face from Aaron Taylor-Johnson for that purpose.
For those keeping up with those commercial breaks in episodes, this week brought us a flashback to Lagos from Captain America: Civil War. The incident that bore the Sokovia Accords, which also got a shout-out this week. If we’re keeping track, that would mean the death of Pietro was skipped in the representation trauma timeline. Because he’s no longer dead?
Marvel/Disney+
And finally, some super sleuths have uncovered a few possible hints in the most recent WandaVision poster that was released. One, the figure above Jimmy Woo bears a crazy close resemblance to the beekeeper/Artificial Intelligence expert from episodes 2 and 4, so he’ll be making another appearance with a more important role if that’s correct. Then, there’s the red box above. Hidden there in the floral wallpaper is what really appears to a devil a.k.a Mephisto, down to the signature collar and hair. Did Marvel make that to string audiences along? At this point it’s just as likely as it being Mephisto. Only time will tell. Time that is moving very slowly between episode … but the slow burn is so good, right?
The sixth episode of WandaVision will be out next Friday, February 12 on Disney+ and catastrophe is coming in hot.
