The arrival of the anime adaptation of Naoya Matsumoto’s manga series Kaiju No. 8 is just around the corner, and Crunchyroll has announced that — for the first time — new episodes of the series will stream live every week (in more than 200 countries and territories) at the same exact time as the Japanese broadcast.

The first episode will air on Crunchyroll on Saturday, April 13 at 7 a.m. PDT. Episodes will then be available for regular streaming shortly after the live broadcast at 8:30 a.m. PDT each Saturday.

And that’s not all — Crunchyroll will be providing dub fans with comprehensive offering of languages slated for a day-and-date release on April 13 as well. The English voice cast includes:

  • Nazeeh Tarsha as Kafka Hibino / Kaiju No. 8
  • Katelyn Barr as Mina Ashiro
  • Adam McArthur as Reno Ichikawa

Kaiju No. 8‘s official synopsis is as follows:

“In a world plagued by creatures known as Kaiju, Kafka Hibino aspired to enlist in The Defense Force. He makes a promise to enlist with his childhood friend, Mina Ashiro. Soon, life takes them in separate ways. While employed cleaning up after Kaiju battles, Kafka meets Reno Ichikawa. Reno’s determination to join The Defense Force reawakens Kafka’s promise to join Mina and protect humanity.”
