Today at NYCC AMC announced that the long-awaited The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live limited series starring Andrew Lincoln and Danai Gurira who are reprising their roles as Rick Grimes and Michonne will premiere in early 2024.

Originally slated for release as a film about Rick Grimes, AMC pivoted to a limited series after a near four year stall on the project. At the panel moderated by Entertainment Weekly’s Dalton Ross, fans got a first look at the upcoming series which has a confirmed release window of February 2024.

“I tried to get away; please know I tried,” Rick solemnly says in a voiceover as clips of him slaying zombies covered in blood flash on the screen. “I tried but I failed. Just know I love you.” Michonne is seen doing much of the same with her signature weapon of zombie-killing destruction — her Katana.

Alongside the teaser, it was confirmed Pollyanna McIntosh is returning as Jadis. Terry O’Quinn and Matt Jeffries join the series as Beale and Nat, respectively. They join previously announced Lesley-Ann Brandt as Pearl.
