At NYCC AMC hosted their panel that featured news on several of TWD properties, including the inclusion of Melissa McBride in season 2 of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon.
Originally set to be a series about Norman Reedus’ Daryl Dixon and McBride’s Carol, McBride had dropped out of the series due to a scheduling conflict. She will of course be reprising her role as Carol Peletier as a series regular. The news comes ahead of the season 1 finale airing this Sunday on AMC where she makes an appearance.
“I’ve known there was much more to be told of Carol’s story as I felt her so unsettled when we last saw her, as she watched her best friend, Daryl, ride away. Apart or (hopefully!) together, their stories run deep, and I’m so excited to continue Carol’s journey here,” McBride said. “This team of storytellers have done amazing work to land these two established characters in an entirely new world to them, and I’m loving the discoveries!”
Currently in production on Season 2 in France and set to premiere in 2024, The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon- The Book of Carol, stars Reedus, McBride, Clémence Poésy, Louis Puech Scigliuzzi, Laika Blanc Francard, Anne Charrier, Romain Levi and Eriq Ebouaney and is executive produced by showrunner David Zabel, Scott M.
