The latest addition to the Castlevania universe is Netflix’s Castlevania: Nocturne. This new original animated series carries on the infamous monster-hunting Belmont bloodline. In this supernatural vampire-filled world, heroes are desperately needed. This story is full of magic and inspired a beautiful original song. Sydney James Harcourt and Lindsey Stirling came together to create “I’m Free” to pay tribute to the theme and heroes of Castlevania: Nocturne.

Nocturne follows Annette, a Caribbean sorceress, as she tries to stop an upcoming evil. Amid the French Revolution, the aristocrats made the terrible decision to ally with the undead. This alliance includes a Vampire Messiah who swears to crush the revolution by eating the sun and unleashing his army to enslave humans. Sounds like a perfect plan that won’t backfire at all. To put a stop to this madness, Annette searches out the last Belmont. Coming from a long legendary line of vampire hunters, Richter Belmont, with his adopted sister Maria Renard, seems perfect to lead the resistance. With a talented voice cast of Edward Bluemel, Thuso Mbedu, Pixie Davies, Sharon D. Clarke, Richard Dormer, Iain Glen, Sydney James Harcourt, Elarica Johnson, Nastassja Kinski, Zahn McClarnon, Aaron Neil, Franka Potente, and Sophie Skelton Nocturne is defiantly worth the watch!

Castlevania: Nocturne is currently available to stream on Netflix, and a second season was just confirmed. Make sure to check out the touching song “I’m Free” by Sydney James Harcourt and Lindsey Stirling below.
