Today Warner Bros. Pictures shared the newest trailer for the colorful and eccentric Wonka film starring Timothée Chalamet from director Paul King.
Serving as a prequel to Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, the film based on the best-selling children’s book by Roald Dahl, Wonka sees the early beginnings of the iconic magician, inventor, and chocolate maker. In the latest trailer, alongside the first look inside the factory, the trailer offers a better look at Hugh Grant’s Oompa Loompa Lofty who first appeared in the first trailer released back in July. In the latest trailer, he bops around singing the classic Oompa Loompa song from the 1971 film.
Alongside Chalamet and Grant, Wonka also stars Calah Lane, Emmy and Peabody Award winner Keegan-Michael Key, Paterson Joseph, Matt Lucas, Mathew Baynton, Oscar nominee Sally Hawkins, Rowan Atkinson, Jim Carter, Oscar winner Olivia Colman, Natasha Rothwell, Rich Fulcher, Rakhee Thakrar, Tom Davis and Kobna Holdbrook-Smith.
Simon Farnaby (Paddington 2) and King wrote the screenplay based on a story by King and characters created by Dahl. Michael Siegel, Cate Adams, Rosie Alison, and Tim Wellspring are serving as executive producers. Wonka opens in IMAX internationally starting December 6 and in North America on December 15.
