WWE NXT Preview for October 10, 2023

With this week’s episode of NXT going up against AEW Dynamite, the show is even more loaded than normal. Alongside the action in ring, Cody Rhodes is also set to make an appearance on the show for the first time since 2014. The American Nightmare will once again step foot into the place that his father Dusty Rhodes helped build it into what it is today.

It’s also worth noting that while not officially announced, The Undertaker’s gong has been featured in commercials leading up to tonight’s show so expect The Deadman to make an appearance in some capacity. Throughout his long tenured career with WWE, he has never shown up on NXT.

Carmelo Hayes (with John Cena) vs. Bron Breakker (with Paul Heyman):

Two of the hottest prospects in NXT will collide once again with the endorsement of two of the greatest of all time — one of the greatest wrestlers of all time in Cena and one of if not the best manager in wrestling, Heyman. When Hayes lost the NXT title to Ilja Dragunov at NXT No Mercy, Breakker confronted Hayes backstage and told him he knows how it feels to lose the title on such a big stage. He says Melo should take his rage and use it to destroy the NXT roster — including Trick Williams. Instead, Hayes refuses but he certainly has a lot more to think about.

Roxanne Perez vs. Asuka

With members of the roster of the belief that Roxanne doesn’t have a killer instinct, she aims to prove herself against the Empress of Tomorrow. Will Roxanne flip the switch and pull out the win or will Asuka exploit Roxanne’s abilities?

Pub Rules Match: Tyler Bate and the Brawling Bruts vs. Gallus

At NXT No Mercy, Gallus beat down Tyler Bate and Butch for defeating them which prompted the return of Ridge Holland to save them. The six men will now face off in a Pub Rules Match.

NXT airs Tuesday nights at 8 p.m. ET on USA.
