Nick Jackson Earns AEW International Title Shot

On tonight’s episode of AEW Dynamite, a three-way match between one-third of the ROH Six-Man champions Nick Jackson, Brian Cage, and Claudio Castagnoli took place for a shot at the AEW International Championship.

In an extremely competitive match, Jackson took to the top rope to hit Castagnoli with a surprise hurricanrana after he hit Cage with a Ricola Bomb. With Castagnoli out of the ring, Jackson rolled Cage into a pin and won the match.

Last week, Rey Fenix wrestled Jon Moxley in a title match but once Moxley was injured mid match, a call was made and Fenix won the championship. Jackson and Fenix have a long-standing history together in their respective tag teams but they’ve only faced off in singles competition once. That episode, the eighth episode of Dynamite, Fenix beat Jackson. The two rivals will face each other on next week’s 4 year Dynamite anniversary episode.
