Steel Wool Studios has announced that Ruin, the free DLC for Five Nights at Freddy’s: Security Breach, will release July 25 in an announcement on social media. This is the first DLC for the game.

Security Breach was divisive amongst fans of the franchise with its December 2021 release due to its vastly different gameplay style when compared to earlier releases under the Five Nights at Freddy’s name, the seeming lack of major lore reveals as is consistent with new releases, and, as is common these days, a lackluster PC performance on release. In Security Breach, rather than playing in the typical security guard role, players are directing a young boy, Gregory, who has been trapped inside Freddy Fazbear’s Mega Pizzaplex overnight.

The ending to the main storyline is dependent on player actions, though the trailer for Ruin seems to indicate that Gregory did survive his night at Freddy’s, though the damaged condition of the Glamrock animatronics would suggest some time has passed. Whether or not Gregory is alive, players will take on a new role in Ruin as Cassie as she searches for Gregory.
