Superman: Legacy is building its cast with another addition in Anthony Carrigan, who will portray the hero Metamorpho for the movie. Carrigan is no stranger to DC characters, as the actor was previously a reoccurring cast member on Gotham as the assassin Victor Zsasz.

The news comes the same day that Carrigan was nominated for an Emmy Award for his role in HBO’s Barry.

Carrigan joins a cast led by David Corenswet as the titular hero, with Rachel Brosnahan as the iconic Lois Lane, Isabela Merced as Hawkgrirl, Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific, and Nathan Fillion as the Guy Gardner Green Lantern.

Superman: Legacy is currently in pre-production as announced by writer and director James Gunn. As mentioned at the beginning of this article, Legacy will mark the cinematic beginning to Gunn and co-DC Studios CEO Peter Safran’s rejuvenated DCU.

This news was first reported by The Hollywood Reporter. Superman: Legacy is currently slated for a July 11, 2025 release.
