Paramount+ has announced the official title, premiere date, and released several first-look photos for their upcoming Stephen King-inspired movie, Pet Sematary: Bloodlines. Bloodlines is based on an untold chapter of the King novel and serves as a prequel to the story of the Creed family.
The synopsis for the movie reads:
“In 1969, a young Jud Crandall has dreams of leaving his hometown of Ludlow, Maine behind, but soon discovers sinister secrets buried within and is forced to confront a dark family history that will forever keep him connected to Ludlow. Banding together, Jud and his childhood friends must fight an ancient evil that has gripped Ludlow since its founding, and once unearthed has the power to destroy everything in its path. Based on the untold chapter from Pet Sematary, Stephen King’s chilling novel, Pet Sematary: Bloodlines is a terrifying prequel and the untold story of why sometimes dead is better… “
Bloodlines stars Jackson White (Tell Me Lies), Forrest Goodluck (The Revenant), Jack Mulhern (Mare of Easttown), Henry Thomas (The Fall of the House of Usher), Natalie Alyn Lind (The Gifted), and Isabella Star LaBlanc (True Detective: Night Country), with Pam Grier (Cinnamon) and David Duchovny (The X-Files).

Bloodlines is the directorial debut for Lindsey Anderson Beer from a script written by Beer and Jeff Buhler. The movie is produced by Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Mark Vahradian in association with Paramount Pictures’ Players Label.
Pet Sematary: Bloodlines premieres on Paramount+ Friday, October 6 in the U.S., Canada, Latin America and Brazil, and Saturday, October 7 in all other Paramount+ international markets.
