Garrett Hedlund Releases New Song “Day One” for Mother’s Day
Just in time for Mother’s Day this weekend, actor and musician Garrett Hedlund (Mudbound, Triple Frontier) has released a heartfelt new song, “Day One.”
This is the latest addition to Hedlund’s growing music career, which dates back to his starring role in Country Strong. Following another musical role in Dirt Music in 2019, Hedlund eventually began putting out his own solo music starting with “The Road” in 2022.
Hedlund also released a video to accompany the new track, which is a wonderful collaborative project comprised of videos and photos submitted by fans.
“Day One” is a project by Hedlund, Casey McGrath, Luke Wooten, Rafaela Marone, Roy Pearson, and Ashley Purdum. McGrath co-wrote the song with Hedlund.
Hedlund’s latest film, The Tutor, is out now. His upcoming projects include Desperation Road, The Marsh King’s Daughter, Paramount+’s upcoming Bass Reeves series, and another role that he’s teased but not yet announced.
