James McAvoy to Star in Action Thriller ‘Control’ Directed by Robert Schwentke

James McAvoy will star in Control, an action thriller with Robert Schwentke set to direct. The project is backed by Studiocanal and The Picture Company.

Control is adapted from the podcast Shipworm from Zack Akers and Skip Bronkie. In Shipworm, a doctor awakens one morning to find an untraceable device has been planted in his head. In the nail-biting, clock-ticking thriller that ensues, the doctor must follow the mysterious voice in his head’s instructions … or face the devastating consequences.

The script for Control was written by Akers with the most recent version being edited by Andrew Baldwin. Bronkie will also serve as an executive producer, with The Picture Company’s Andrew Rona and Alex Heineman producing.
