Sony Pictures is returning to The Further with Insidious: The Red Door.
Patrick Wilson is returning to the cast to star as Josh Lambert alongside returning cast mates Ty Simpkins as Dalton Lambert and Rose Byrne as Renai Lambert.
But starring in the movie isn’t where it stops for Wilson, as he is also making his directorial debut with the film, directing from a script penned by Scott Teems (Halloween Kills) based on a story by franchise co-creator Leigh Whannell. The first two Insidious movies were written by Whannell.
The description for the fifth Insidious installment reads:
“Josh Lambert (Wilson) heads east to drop his son Dalton (Simpkins) off at an idyllic, ivy-covered university. However, Dalton’s college dream becomes a nightmare when the repressed demons of his past suddenly return to haunt them both.”
