Disney and Pixar’s ‘Elemental’ To Be Featured at 76th Annual Cannes Film Festival

Pixar Animation Studios is returning to the Cannes Film Festival with its 27th animated feature, Elemental. The brand-new animated film from Disney and Pixar will make its world premiere screening on May 27 as the closing film for the 76th edition of the festival.

The film tells the story of Ember, a fiery young woman living in the Elemental City where fire, water, land, and air residents live together. Ember strikes up a friendship with a happy-go-lucky man name Wade who will challenge her beliefs about the world she lives in.

Directed by Peter Sohn and written by John Hoberg, Kat Likkel, and Brenda Hsueh, the film features the voices of Leah Lewis, Mamoudou Athie, Ronnie del Carmen, Shila Ommi, Wendi McLendon-Covey, Mason Wertheimer, and Joe Pera. Elemental will be the fourth film from the studio to be featured for the event and joins previous favorites Up, Inside Out, and Soul.
