‘Star Trek: Strange New Worlds’ Takes off With Season 2 Teaser

Paramount today revealed the official teaser trailer for the highly anticipated second season of its hit original series Star Trek: Strange New Worlds.

The teaser features upgraded Klingons and the return of Paul Wesley’s Captain Kirk, as well as footage of Ethan Peck’s Spock in the captain’s chair and the arrival of Carol Kane in a recurring role as Pelia, sporting the red shirt, the color of a comms officer. It also appears the production and VFX budget is not letting up this season with even bolder, brighter scenes.

This season also includes the special crossover episode with Star Trek: Lower Decks that features both live-action and animation, with Tawny Newsome as Ensign Beckett Mariner and Jack Quaid as Ensign Brad Boimler joining the U.S.S. Enterprise. Star Trek: The Next Generation and Star Trek: Picard actor and director Jonathan Frakes directed the episode.

The Star Trek: Strange New Worlds cast includes Anson Mount as Captain Christopher Pike, Rebecca Romijn as Number One, Jess Bush as Nurse Christine Chapel, Christina Chong as La’an Noonien-Singh, Celia Rose Gooding as Cadet Nyota Uhura, Melissa Navia as Lt. Erica Ortegas, and Babs Olusanmokun as Dr. M’Benga.
