HBO Max (soon to be just Max) has released an in-production teaser trailer for the upcoming Matt Reeves’ The Batman universe spin-off series, The Penguin.
The series will feature the return of Colin Farrell to the character. Plot details for The Penguin remain under wraps, but Farrell confirmed in an interview with Extra in October that the series starts one week after the events of the film and that the city is still (at least partially) underwater.
Additional cast includes Cristin Milioti as Sofia Falcone, Rhenzy Feliz, Michael Kelly, Shohreh Aghdashloo, Deirdre O’Connell, Clancy Brown, Carmen Ejogo, François Chau, and David H. Holmes.
The series will be executive produced by Matt Reeves, Dylan Clark, Farrell, Daniel Pipski, Adam Kassanand, and Lauren LeFranc. LeFranc, who previously wrote for Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., will also serve as the showrunner for this project. It will consist of eight episodes and is currently in production.
