‘Abbott Elementary’: Taraji P. Henson Joins Cast for Special Guest-Star Role

Abbott Elementary‘s cast just keeps getting more and more stacked. Following the guest appearance of Ayo Edebiri as Janine’s sister, a new guest star has been revealed. According to Variety, the illustrious Taraji P. Henson will be joining on in an important guest-star capacity as Janine’s mother!

The past few weeks of the show have uncovered new lore concerning Janine’s rocky relationship with her mother (and her sister as a byproduct). With Henson’s deep filmography (Hidden Figures, Empire, Think Like A Man, and more), we are positive she’ll be able to bring the right blend of comedy and nuance to this tricky role that will put her in contentious waters.
