Ed Sheeran Announces Latest Album ‘Subtract’ With Album Video and Heartfelt Message
Two years after his hit album Equals, Ed Sheeran has announced his new album, and according to his heartfelt message in the announcement, it’s not the album he thought he’d be releasing. In the announcement, Sheeran reveals that he’d been previously working on the perfect acoustic album for over a decade, honing his tracklist until everything was turned upside down on the singer. In 2022, his wife was diagnosed with a tumor that wasn’t treatable while she was pregnant. Furthermore, Sheeran lost a dear friend and found himself spiraling into fear, depression, and anxiety. This album is the product of that year-long struggle. Check out Sheeran’s full message below.
The track list for Subtract was revealed in the album trailer, written in beach sand as the singer walks and interspersed with (presumably) shots from upcoming music videos. The tracklist is as follows:
“Boat”
“Salt Water”
“Eyes Closed”
“Life Goes On”
“Dusty”
“End of Youth”
“Colourblind”
“Curtain”
“Borderline”
“Spark”
“Vega”
“Sycamore”
“No Strings”
“The Hills of Aberfeldy”
Subtract will release everywhere you listen to music on May 5 and is available now to pre-order and pre-save.
