A-list talent is headed to Austin, TX this year for SXSW’s inaugural South Asian House initiative! Variety reports that stars from everything from Schitt’s Creek to Delhi Crime to The Flash will be joining the panels for this special initiative.
The lineup kicks off with actor Rizwan Manji (Schitt’s Creek), Emmy-winning executive producer/writer/director Falguni Adams (Dateline NBC), and producer of international Emmy-winning series Delhi Crime Apoorva Bakshi, participating in a discussion of Creating South Asian Content for a Global Audience moderated by CEO of Jingo Media and producer of South Asian House Jitin Hingorani.
Even more notable names will appear in the panel, Investing in the Future of Our South Asian Stories, featuring CEO and co-founder of URL Media S. Mitra Kalita and actor Kausar Mohammed (The Flash) and moderated by the co-founder of Box Office Guru Media Gitesh Pandya.
Plus, Women in Film and Television, Austin, will present the Pilot reading hour. Meanwhile, The Partnership’s Leadership Program, an organization that supports leadership development of professionals of color, will facilitate a program led by their chief transformation office, Anjali Worah, with participants including actor Pooja Kumar (Never Have I Ever), Milan Chakraborty, head of film at Marginal MediaWorks, Sid Shah, founder of Trackmind and James A. Mathew, CEO of The Outer Voice Company.
Beyond these panels, the event will also feature entertainment with an Oscar viewing party and a Sway with Pray Bollywood dance pop-up with from The Slashie Summit team with BrownGirl Magazine.
Intended to celebrate South Asians from India, Nepal, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lank, Bhutan, and Maldives, as well as accomplished members of the diaspora, South Asian House initiative is set to take place on March 11 and 12, the first weekend of SXSW.
