‘Tetris’ Starring Taron Egerton Releases First Trailer
Taron Egerton saved the world as a spy and sang the songs of Elton John. In this first trailer for Apple TV’s Tetris, we see Egerton dawning a magnificent mustache and a new accent. Viewers will watch as he takes on the KGB to bring a video game to the world.
Tetris will follow the story of how, thanks to Henk Rogers, this iconic game came to be. Henk is played by the award-winning Egerton. This Dutch businessman fell in love with the game of falling blocks and had the desire to bring it to the world. He soon finds it is easier said than done. Some of the challenges standing in his way include the KGB, Cold War, and this little thing called the Nintendo GameBoy. Gaining these distribution rights and escaping the Soviet Union will put Henk and his family in danger while asking if this is all worth the risk.
Tetris will be premiering at SXSW on March 15. Joining Egerton in telling this biographical story is Toby Jones, Roger Allam, Moyo Akande, Anthony Boyle, Sofya Lebedeza, and Nikita Yefremov. Yefremov will be playing Alexey Pajinov, the genius mind that invented the game. Tetris will be available to stream on Apple TV+ this March 31.
