Prime Video has given fans a new sneak peek of The Legend of Vox Machina‘s upcoming season 2 episodes! The first nine episodes are already available to stream, and episodes ten through twelve, the last of the season, will release this Friday, February 10.
Let’s break down the two minute long clip, titled “Whitestone Visit,” which takes place when Vox Machina (or some of them, at least) return from the Fey Realm.
The clip begins with Cassandra de Rolo, Allura Vysoren, Lady Kima of Vord, Keeper Yennen, and Shaun Gilmore all seated at a table in Whitestone. A large map of Exandria takes up the space in front of them, complete with models of the Chroma Conclave. Cassandra announces that the dragons are on the move. They’ve already taken Emon and Westruun.
Allura speaks up to say that Whitestone’s defenses are holding steady, but she and Gilmore will need help soon. Their discussion reveals that the two magic users have surrounded Whitestone with a cloaking spell, hiding from the dragons to keep the city safe. The spell isn’t an easy one, with a sweating Gilmore commenting that keeping it up is “murder on his complexion.”
Cassandra is aware, but for now, concealing Whitestone is the only way.
“Well, whatever you’re doing, Cass, I’m pleased to see it’s worked,” says Percy as he enters the room, flanked by Vax, Vex, and Keyleth.
The Whitestone leaders are happy to see Vox Machina, despite a little time distortion from the Fey Realm — they’d begun to give up hope after three weeks, but Vox Machina thought they’d only been gone for three days.
Gilmore comments on Vax’s “new look” as he greets him with a warm hug and kiss on the cheek. Then Kima speaks up, asking where everyone else is.
“Funny story. I…kind of lost them,” Keyleth admits with forced levity, before sitting down in a chair and wilting. “It’s really not that funny.”
The clip raises many questions for the upcoming episodes, not least of which is, if Garmelie brought Vax, Vex, Keyleth, and Percy straight back to Whitestone, what is happening over in Westruun, where Grog, Pike, and Scanlan could really use their help?
We’ll all have to wait until Friday to find out!
The Legend of Vox Machina season 2 released in a similar pattern to the first season, with three episodes releasing every week. The final three, including the exciting finale, drop this week on February 10.
