Prime Video has given fans a new sneak peek of The Legend of Vox Machina new season 2 episodes! The first six episodes are already available to stream, and episodes seven through nine will release this Friday, February 3.

Let’s break down the two minute long clip, titled “Family Tension,” which takes place during Vox Machina’s visit to Syngorn.

It begins with Vex’halia, Percy, and Keyleth seated in a regal room, with Vax’ildan standing close. The group are addressing the twins’ father, Syldor Vessar (Troy Baker, The Last of Us), a character so far only seen in flashbacks. To say he looks displeased with Vox Machina’s presence would be an understatement. Percy informs him that they are here to dispatch the dragons.

When Syldor responds with a haughty request to know who he is, Percy doesn’t give an inch. This is his time to shine, he can finally use his cursed title for something good.

“Percival Fredrickstein von Musel Klossowski de Rolo III of the royal house of Whitestone,” he answers coolly.

Once Syldor has addressed him with his respectful title, Percy brings up the subject of Vox Machina, and their slaying of a dragon. Syldor claims to be unfamiliar with them.

Percy explains that they have come for the Fenthras Bow, one of the Vestiges of Divergence. Unfortunately, Syldor seems to want to pass the bow’s powers off as a rumor, nothing more. Vox Machina believe that the bow could be the key to defeating the dragons, and Percy lets Syldor know that he should be proud that his son and daughter are leading the fight against the Chroma Conclave.

“You needn’t spin false tales of their exploits,” Syldor responds snidely. “The very idea of Vax’ildan and Vex’ahlia standing up for the greater good is…well, rich.”

Vax responds true to form, his anger at his father flaring, while Vex sits in quiet discomfort until she is forced to step between Syldor and Vax. Percy tries to speak up as Vex quells her father, but she tells him firmly that it’s fine. Keyleth and Percy share a look.

“If you can offer us any assistance, we would be most grateful,” Vex implores her father.

Syldor returns to his seat at Vex’s deferential tone, and begrudgingly agrees to assist. It’s the least he can do…for family.

The Legend of Vox Machina season 2 is releasing in a similar pattern to the first season, with the first six episodes being available to stream already, and an additional three releasing every week until the exciting finale on February 10.
