Daisy Jones & The Six, the adaptation of Taylor Jenkins Reid’s novel wrapped filming nearly two years ago, but fans have been waiting even longer for the series to come to fruition. Now, just weeks away, we’ve compiled everything there is to know about the upcoming series.

Daisy Jones & The Six is executive produced by Reese Witherspoon and Lauren Neustadter for Hello Sunshine and Brad Mendelsohn for Circle of Confusion. “As soon as I started reading Daisy Jones & The Six, I immediately fell head over heels in love with it,” Witherspoon said in a statement back in 2018. Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber created the series based on the novel by Reid, who also produces.

Scott Neustadter is executive producing and co-showrunning with Will Graham, who also serves as an executive producer. James Ponsoldt directed the first five episodes and serves as an executive producer, Nzingha Stewart directed four of the remaining episodes, and Graham directed one.

What is Daisy Jones & The Six About?

Daisy Jones & The Six follows Daisy (Riley Keough), the main protagonist and aspiring musician, and rock band The Six at the height of ’70s rock. Daisy spends most of her time sneaking into clubs dreaming of singing on stage. While making a name for herself in the music industry, she eventually joins The Six, thus forming Daisy Jones & The Six. However, the band isn’t quite ready for just how famous they’re about to get as they retell the story of what led to their split after their sold-out Aurora arena tour. In the period of “sex, drugs, and rock ‘n’ roll,” there is plenty of that as some of the book’s harrowing themes include drug abuse and infidelity. The series will recount the band’s career 20 years after the height of their careers, shortened from the book’s span.

The Cast of Daisy Jones & The Six

In late 2019, Prime Video announced that Riley Keough would step into the shoes of the titular character, Daisy Jones. Soon after, Camila Morrone joined as Camila Dunne, the wife and heartbeat of Billy Dunne, played by Sam Claflin. Eventually, the rest of the band and cast round out with Suki Waterhouse as Karen Sirko, Will Harrison as Graham Dunne, Josh Whitehouse as Eddie Roundtree, Sebastian Chacon as Warren Rojas, Nabiyah Be as Simone Jackson, and Tom Wright as Teddy Price. Timothy Olyphant guest stars as the band’s tour manager, Rod Reyes.

The Music

The one thing fans love the most about Daisy Jones and The Six is the music. They are a band, after all. The soundtrack for the album will have 24 songs from various collaborators, including Blake Mills and Tony Berg, who act as the lead songwriters as well. Fan-favorite tunes are part of the lineup, including “Honeycomb,” “Regret Me,” and “Aurora.”

Their Music Made Them Famous. Their Breakup Made Them Legends.

In the first teaser trailer, recorded music documentary style much like the layout of the book, Daisy says “Look, I know that I said that I’d tell you everything. But how much of everything do you really wanna know?” The clips following show the recording sessions for Aurora, Daisy performing on stage with The Six, the first look at Camila and Billy, the iconic album cover photoshoot, and more.

The series, comprised of 10 episodes, will release on March 3 on Prime Video. Episodes will release weekly with the finale airing on March 24.
