Per The Hollywood Reporter, Gael García Bernal has joined Nicole Kidman to star in the upcoming Prime Video thriller — Holland, Michigan.
The film, described as a “Hitchcock-style thriller involving secrets that lurk beneath a Midwestern town,” is directed by Mimi Cave from a screenplay by Andrew Sodroski. The IMDb description for the film reads:
“A thriller centered on a woman who suspects her husband is cheating and enters into an affair of her own, before learning her husband’s true, dark secret life.”
Kidman is producing with Per Saari via her Blossom Films banner, along with executive producer Kate Churchill of Churchill Films and Peter Dealbert of Pacific View Management and Productions producing.
Bernal is a frequent collaborator with Prime Video, having starred previously in Mozart in the Jungle, which ran for four seasons, and the already acclaimed film Cassandro, which premiered at the recent Sundance Film Festival. He was most recently seen by wide audiences in a Marvel Studios debut — Werewolf by Night.
He can next be seen in Netflix’s The Mother alongside Jennifer Lopez, releasing May 12 on the streamer, and Hulu’s La Máquina alongside Diego Luna and Eiza González. Bernal is also executive producing the series, which has yet to announce a release date, through his and Luna’s shared banner La Corriente del Golfo.
