‘Dead City’: Lauren Cohan and Jeffrey Dean Morgan Led Series to Premiere Summer 2023

AMC has revealed that Dead City, the spin-off that sees Lauren Cohan and Jeffrey Dean Morgan reprising their roles as Negan and Maggie, will premiere in June 2023.

The last time Negan and Maggie were together, Negan’s guilt overwhelmed him. Just him and Maggie, he apologized for everything that he had done to Glenn and he knows he owes her more than an apology.

Maggie makes it clear that although she’s grateful he saved Herschel, she can’t forgive him. Every time she sees him she sees the guy that mocked Glenn’s pleas right in front of her. She knows he’s trying, and she is too, but she just can’t forgive it. Set in New York, the synopsis for the series reveals that there will be another time jump and the pair will have to put their differences aside once again to work together.

“Years have passed since we last saw Maggie and Negan and they must now form a tenuous alliance in order to accomplish a dangerous mission. Maggie and Negan journey to the island of Manhattan, which, having been isolated since the beginning of the walker apocalypse, has developed its own unique threats.

While in the city, Maggie and Negan encounter native New Yorkers, evade a marshal with a troubled past, and hunt down a notorious killer. But as the pair moves deeper into the gritty depths of the walker-infested city, it becomes apparent that the traumas of their tumultuous past may prove just as great a threat as the dangers of the present.”

Stay tuned for updates on Dead City.
