Paramount+ Series ‘Lioness’ Adds Nicole Kidman to Star and Executive Produce
Paramount+ has a new original series that will focus on espionage through the female lens. Lioness comes from the mind of Academy Award nominee Taylor Sheridan. The inspiration behind the show is from a real CIA program that uses female undercover operatives.
Award-winning actress Nicole Kidman will be joining the already impressive casting of Zoe Saldaña and Laysla De Oliveria. Kidman will be playing Kaitlyn Meade, a senior supervisor in the CIA. Kaitlyn is a complex individual who struggles with the sexism of being a woman in a high-risk position. Alongside figuring out her work life, her personal life is also in turmoil, and she longs to save another person from the situation she has locked herself into.
Lioness will follow the Cruz Manuelos, played by De Oliveira. Cruz is the newbie trying to learn the ropes while tackling the dangerous job of taking down a terrorist group from the inside. The leader of the Lioness program is Joe, played by the amazing Zoe Saldaña. Joe has the difficult position of leading and training these talented women in their undercover operations.
Not only will Kidman be joining the cast, but she will also have the job of executive producer under her company Blossom Films. Also serving as executive producers on Lioness are Taylor Sheridan, David C. Glasser, Zoe Saldaña, Ron Burkle, Bob Yari, David Hutkin, Jill Wagner, Geyer Kosinski, Michael Malone, and John Hillcoat. The series has not been given a release date as of yet. To stay up to date on any Lioness news and all other Paramount+ shows visit their official website here.
