Inaugural NJPW World TV Champion Crowned at Wrestle Kingdom 17

Wrestle Kingdom 17 saw Ren Narita facing off against Zack Sabre Jr. in the NJPW World TV Championship final.

Both stars have heavily implied they are the successor to the mantle and the match was a true test to see just who can claim that title. Sabre Jr. came out of the match as the victor in the hard-hitting match that secured him his first singles title in NJPW. After the match, T.M.D.K. (Shane Haste and Mikey Nicholls) congratulated him and asked him to join T.M.D.K., to which he accepted.

The NJPW World TV Championship is the latest title that the company has introduced in the last year. The tournament, which began in October, had a 16-man field that put the spotlight on some of the younger talents, including Alex Zayne, SANADA, David Finlay, and more.
