As part of TUDUM: A Global Fan Event, Netflix has announced the release date for the upcoming series from the creators of Dark, 1899.

Created by duo Baran bo Odar and Jantje Friese, 1899 is the next thrilling mystery series from the pair. This time around, they’ve expanded their scope for a multi-lingual series that is inundated with weirdness. Set in 1899, the series sees a migrant steamship heading west to leave the old continent. The passengers, a mixed bag of Europeans, united by their hopes and dreams for the new century and their future abroad, but their journey takes an unexpected turn when they discover another migrant ship adrift on the vast, open sea. What they will find aboard the other ship will turn their passage to the promised future into a horrifying nightmare.

Maura Franklin (Emily Beecham) stars in the cast as a forthright and mysterious woman with a fascinating background. The international cast includes Aneurin Barnard, Andreas Pietschmann, Miguel Bernardeau, Maciej Musial, Lucas Lynggaard Tønnesen, Rosalie Craig, Clara Rosager, Maria Erwolter, Yann Gael, Mathilde Ollivier, José Pimentão, Isabella Wei, Gabby Wong, Jonas Bloquet, Fflyn Edwards and Alexandre Willaume. The series will feature some different voices though as it is dubbed in English, considering all of the cast are speaking their native languages.

1899 will release on Netflix November 17. Watch the release date announcement below, and check out more news from TUDUM: A Global Fan Event here.
