Big Sky: Deadly Trails has finally arrived, and fans couldn’t be more excited! The season 3 premiere of the show did not disappoint. One of the gems that came out of the episode was the resurgence of a phenomenon we saw in the season 2 premiere: Beau Arlen (Jensen Ackles) coming up with increasingly ridiculous nicknames for our favorite peppy Deputy, Mo Poppernak (J. Anthony Pena). I, for one, have a sneaking suspicion that this will be a running gag this season. As such, every week, I’ll be updating this list with the newest nicknames that come out of this delightful duo’s interactions for the rest of the season! Check out the latest updated list below.

  1. Papa Smurf (2×18 — “Catch A Few Fish”)
  2. Deputy Popcorn
  3. Potpie (3×01 — “Do You Love An Apple”)
  4. Potpourri
  5. Pop Star (3×02 — “The Woods Are Lovely, Dark And Deep”)
  6. Pops — This is the one that has seemed to stick in the wake of the Poppernak’s abduction. Everyone is just too dang fond of him — and how couldn’t they be?

Stay tuned as we continue to update the list week to week (or as new nicknames occur)! Big Sky: Deadly Trails airs on Wednesdays at 10 p.m. ET/9 p.m. CT on ABC. If you haven’t already, be sure to catch up on the first two seasons on Hulu, check out our other content on the show here (including episodic recaps), and stay tuned for more updates.
