‘Werewolf By Night’ From Marvel Studios Receives Release Date & Trailer

At the Marvel Studios D23 Expo panel, the studio has finally revealed a release date and trailer for the upcoming black-and-white retro horror mystery Halloween special, Werewolf By Night. Check out the trailer below.
Gael Garcia Bernal and Laura Donnelly are starring in the special, with Bernal bringing the titular character to screen. The special will illuminate the titular character, who has a deep and complex history between the pages of comic books. Werewolf by Night was first featured by Marvel predecessor Atlas Comics as a five-page short story in Marvel Tales #116, which released July 1953. In 1971, it became possible for Marvel Comics to publish Comics Code Authority-approved werewolf content, and so the Jack Russell version of the character was introduced in Marvel Spotlight #2 in 1972.
After a test run in Marvel Spotlight #2-4, the character graduated to his own series in September 1972. Werewolf By Night ran for 43 issues through March 1977, and also serves as the debut for another now-recognizable Marvel Character Moon Knight, who first appeared in Werewolf By Night #32 in August 1975. Werewolf, as most other characters refer to him, was virtually unheard from throughout the 1980s and has been scarcely used since, primarily making appearances in other runs such as Morbius: The Living Vampire from 1993-1995.
The Disney+ exclusive is directed by frequent Marvel Studios composer Michael Giacchino, who is making his directing debut for the studio with the project. Giacchino has composed projects such as the entirety of the MCU Spider-Man trilogy, Doctor Strange, Thor: Love and Thunder, The Batman, and many more.
Werewolf By Night will premiere exclusively on Disney+ October 7. Stay tuned with Nerds & Beyond for updates.
