‘Derry Girls’: Premiere Date Announced for Final Season
Prepare to say farewell to your favorite group of northern Ireland Derry Girls. Netflix has revealed that the third and final season of the hit comedy will hit the streaming service on October 7. They also released several new photos to give viewers a sneak peek at what to expect.
This final season consists of seven episodes. It was always showrunner Lisa McGee’s plan to end the hilarious and heartfelt show after three seasons. Lisa has been quoted as saying Derry Girls is a type of love letter to the community that helped shape her as she grew up.
If you haven’t already, I highly recommend checking out Derry Girls on Netflix. The series is set in Northern Ireland in the late ‘90s during a time of major political conflict. Viewers follow the lives of five friends as they face attending Catholic school and attempt to navigate life as teenagers. The Derry Girls are brought to life by Saoirse-Monica Jackson as Erin, Louisa Harland as Orla, Nicola Coughlan as Clare, Jamie-Lee O’Donnell as Michelle, and Dylan Llewellyn as James. This show is great at making you laugh, cringe, and shed a few tears, all while genuinely making you care about these teens and their families. Seasons 1 and 2 of Derry Girls are currently available to stream on Netflix.
