‘Yellowstone’ Prequel ‘1923’ Adds Sebastian Roché to Cast

1923, one of the upcoming Yellowstone prequels, just added Supernatural alum, Sebastian Roché, to its star-studded cast. According to Deadline, Roché will join Helen Mirren and Harrison Ford, among others, in a yet-to-be-announced recurring role in the Paramount+ series.
The second prequel series to join the Yellowstone family, 1923 will follow two generations of the Dutton family through the ups and downs of the “roaring twenties.” From historic drought to prohibition and an endemic of cattle theft, the family must learn to survive in a new post-WWI world, all while battling Montana’s great depression.
Serving as a bridge between 1883, which premiered last year starring Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, and Sam Elliott, and the original Yellowstone, 1923 has a lot to live up to. Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan also created this show and will serve as executive producer along with John Linson, Art Linson, David C. Glasser, Ron Burkle, Bob Yari, and Ben Richardson. Which should give fans hope that the show will live up to its predecessors.
As of this time, 1923 is one of nine shows Sheridan has in production with Paramount+. Others include the second season of Mayor of Kingstown with Jeremy Renner, Tulsa King with Sylvester Stallone, and Lioness with Zoe Saldaña.
You may recognize Roché from his time on The CW, either as Mikeal on The Vampire Diaries and The Originals, Dr. Campbell on Batwoman, or perhaps his time as the angel Balthazar on Supernatural. However, you may also have caught him in his recent recurring role on Big Sky, and you’ll find him in Guillermo del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities when it comes out next month.
