Marvel Studios has begun its San Diego Comic-Con announcements, starting with the animated projects the studio is tackling. Following the I Am Groot trailer reveal and additional details for Spider-Man: Freshman Year, the studio shared some additional details for another animated series — Marvel Zombies — which will officially make its way to Disney+ in 2023 at a TV-MA rating.

Marvel Zombies will also be biting their way onto screens with What If…?‘s Bryan Andrews set to direct. Zombies were first introduced to Marvel with a limited comic series written by Robert Kirkman with art by Sean Phillips in late 2005.

Marvel Studios also revealed during the panel that the series will showcase zombie versions of Ghost, Abomination, Captain Marvel, Scarlet Witch, Hawkeye, Okoye, and Captain America. The series will also introduce new heroes, including Jimmy Woo, Kate Bishop, Yelena Belova, Shang-Chi, and Ms. Marvel.
