‘Pokémon Scarlet’ and ‘Violet’ Release Date Confirmed in New Trailer

Share:

Following its announcement earlier this year, the Pokémon Company has dropped a new trailer and finally confirmed the release date for the upcoming Generation 9 games — Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.

Taking cues from the critically acclaimed Pokémon Legends: Arceus, Scarlet and Violet are the first open-world RPGs in the Pokémon series, allowing players to explore freely in a richly expressed open world. Players will no longer be bound to venture across the world of the game in an order dictated by the story.

Various towns blend seamlessly into the wilderness with no borders. You’ll be able to see the Pokémon of this region in the skies, in the seas, in the forests, on the streets — all over! You’ll be able to experience the true joy of the Pokémon series — battling against wild Pokémon in order to catch them — now in an open-world game that players of any age can enjoy.

Watch the new trailer below.

Scarlet and Violet are introducing a new style of multiplayer gameplay with up to four players. In addition to trading and battling, players will be able to actually explore the game with other players, too.

For the first time, players will encounter a different professor depending on which version of the game they choose. Professor Sada will appear in Scarlet, and Professor Turo will be in Violet. Choose wisely!

The trailer also introduced audiences to a character named Nemona, an experienced Pokémon Trainer that will serve as a guide for players on their adventures.

We’ve already seen the new starter Pokémon, Sprigatito, Fuecoco, and Quaxly, but the trailer has shown us three others — Pawmi, Lechonk, and Smoliv.

The Legendaries have been revealed, too: Koraidon (Scarlet) and Miraidon (Violet).

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet will launch on November 18. Pre-orders are now available on Nintendo eShop. A double pack that includes both games will be available at a later date.
