Trailer and Poster Released for Disney’s Live Action ‘Pinocchio’

A trailer and poster has been released for Disney’s upcoming live-action Pinocchio movie.

The movie tells the classic story of the wooden puppet Pinocchio as he is brought to life. However, if he wants to become a real boy he must prove that he can be good. He receives guidance from Jiminy Cricket and the Blue Fairy along the way.

The movie stars Benjamin Evan Ainsworth (The Haunting of Bly Manor) as Pinocchio and Tom Hanks (Forrest Gump) as his father, Geppetto. The trailer also gives us a glimpse of Jiminy Cricket, voiced by Joseph Gordon-Levitt (Inception) and Cynthia Erivo (Harriet) as the Blue Fairy.

They movie also stars Luke Evans (Beauty and the Beast) as The Coachman, Keegan-Michael Key (Keanu) as “Honest” John, and Lorraine Braco (Goodfellas) as Sofia the Seagull. They are joined by newly announced cast members Kyanne Lamaya (The Dumping Ground) as Fabiana, Giuseppe Battiston (Perfect Strangers) as Stromboli, and Lewin Lloyd (His Dark Materials) as Lampwick.

Pinocchio will debut on Disney+ on September 8 as part of Disney+ Day, during which Disney will premiere all new content and have special experiences for subscribers. This will lead into D23 Expo: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event which is being hosted in Anaheim, California.
