‘The Mandalorian’ Season 3 Release Month Confirmed

Star Wars Celebration has officially begun in Anaheim, California. The four-day convention kicked off today with Lucasfilm’s Studio Showcase, which included an array of exciting news about what the franchise has in store. As Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau took the stage, the conversation turned to a topic we’ve all been waiting to hear about — The Mandalorian.

While we unfortunately won’t see the show’s upcoming third season before the end of this year, the premiere timeline has finally been confirmed for February 2023! Given that this is only the first day, more news about The Mandalorian may still be in store before the weekend comes to an end. Favreau and Filoni are scheduled to take the stage again (along with some special guests) for their panel, “Mando+: A Conversation with Jon Favreau & Dave Filoni,” on Saturday, May 28.

The Mandalorian stars Pedro Pascal as Din Djarin, a Mandalorian bounty hunter who traverses the outer reaches of a dangerous galaxy in the tumultuous era following the collapse of the Galactic Empire.

Despite the excruciating wait in between seasons of The Mandalorian, audiences were treated to a surprise three-episode appearance from Din in The Book of Boba Fett, starting off with the Mando-centric episode 5 “The Return of the Mandalorian.”

It was announced back in March that Back to the Future‘s Christopher Lloyd will guest star in season 3 in an undisclosed role.

Seasons 1 and 2 of The Mandalorian are currently streaming exclusively on Disney+. Check out our episodic recaps for a season 2 refresher.
